Such a tragic, horrible time! My biggest fascination has always been with the Tudor family. Helen Keller, her courage from what I read is unreal. I love genealogy and have been really fascinated with my own ancestors. I am finding myself even more interested in history as I do my research and this book sounds so interesting! Thanks for the chance to win a copy! Stay tuned … O2O: Was there anything different or surprising about writing this book than when you wrote your previous book?

O2O: What were your writing habits? For this book, my music was Richard Wagner, since Ludwig had been so inspired by his music. O2O: Was there a writing quote or mantra that kept you inspired?

September 6, - Published on Amazon. I finished your book on King Ludwig II last night. It was so moving. Even though I was familiar with the story and knew the ending, a tear was still brought to my eye when he was found. I learned things I didn't know and your epilogue was perfect. I fell more in love with him throughout the book. I think part of it was that I had lived in Germany and was familiar with the area and his castles as I had been fortunate enough to visit a couple of them.

However, your book was so well written that I believe anyone reading it would be able to see Germany and the castles through their mind's eye just by your descriptive word. Kudos to you.

He was so eccentric and unusual that I found him impossible to ignore. As a teacher, I taught my students about this fascinating king each year. They, too, loved him. However, since the book has come out, a majority of its readers have been adults. What makes Ludwig so compelling? Oh, where to begin? There are many quirky anecdotes about him: he once invited his favorite horse to dinner in the palace, complete with china and crystal. Ludwig insisted on hiding behind large floral arrangements when he was forced to attend state dinners.

He preferred to work at night and sleep during the day. His most famous, Neuschwanstein, inspired even the talented Walt Disney. Ludwig has an air of mystery too, continuing to his still-unexplained death. I can pretty much guarantee that this king, who has been dead now for over years, will pique your interest.
